Zesty Tamarind Ginger Juice

Description

A refreshing and tangy Tamarind Ginger Juice that combines the bold flavors of tamarind, ginger, and lime for a perfect summer cooler.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons tamarind paste or 1.5 ounces soaked pulp
  • 1.5 to 2 inches fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 3 to 4 cups cold or room temperature water
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, or date syrup, to taste
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice, for serving
  • Optional add-ins: mint leaves, cinnamon, black pepper, or sparkling water

Instructions

  1. If using tamarind pulp, soak it in 1 cup warm water for 15 to 20 minutes. Mash and strain to obtain smooth liquid.
  2. Slice the ginger; for a stronger flavor, simmer in 1 cup water for 5 minutes and cool.
  3. In a pitcher, mix tamarind liquid or paste, ginger water, remaining water, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.
  4. Sweeten with honey to taste, aiming for a balanced sweet-tart flavor.
  5. Add ice and garnish with lime wedges or mint before serving. Optionally top with sparkling water.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness and spice according to your taste. This juice is best fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
