Description
A bright, sweet, and soothing drink made from ripe figs and honey, perfect for a refreshing afternoon sip.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fresh figs, very ripe
- 2 tablespoons honey, plus more to taste
- 2 ounces bourbon per serving (optional)
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
- 3 to 4 ounces cold water or sparkling water
- Ice, enough to fill the glass
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
- Fig slices and lemon wheel for garnish
Instructions
- Trim the stems and quarter the figs. Discard any dry bits.
- In a blender, add figs, honey, lemon juice, and 3 ounces of cold water. Blend until smooth and glossy.
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer if you prefer a cleaner texture.
- Add ice to a shaker, pour in 2 ounces bourbon and 3 ounces of your fig honey lemon base. Shake for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels frosty.
- Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Top with a splash of sparkling water if desired. Garnish with a fig slice and lemon wheel.
- Add a pinch of sea salt to lift the sweetness and taste to adjust honey as preferred.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, skip the bourbon and double the water or sparkling water. Adjust the honey and lemon to taste.
