A soothing and simple detox tea recipe to support digestion and hydration, perfect for busy days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water, just off the boil
- 1 green tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose green tea
- 3 to 4 thin slices fresh ginger or 1 teaspoon grated
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice plus extra slices for serving
- Pinch of cinnamon or turmeric, optional
- Honey or a few drops of stevia, optional to taste
- Ice and cold water if making it iced
Instructions
- Heat water to just under a full boil. Add the ginger and let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the tea bag and steep for 1 to 3 minutes depending on your strength preference. Remove the tea bag to prevent bitterness.
- Stir in lemon juice and the pinch of cinnamon or turmeric. Sweeten lightly if desired.
- Drink warm, or cool it down and pour over ice for a refreshing version.
Notes
Feel free to customize with mint leaves, splash of apple cider vinegar, or orange peel. Use decaf green tea or peppermint for a caffeine-free option.
