Healthy Chia Seeds and Turmeric Drink


Description

A bright, lightly spiced drink that provides steady energy and supports digestion with chia seeds and turmeric.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water, or half water and half coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 2 teaspoons fresh grated)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons almond or coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Stir turmeric, lemon juice, sweetener, and pepper into the water. Add milk if using.
  2. Add chia seeds and stir well for 30 seconds.
  3. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring once more midway so seeds don’t clump.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon. Chill with ice or enjoy room temperature.

Notes

For a sweeter taste, adjust the honey or maple syrup. Remember to stir before drinking as turmeric can settle.
