Description

A bright and frothy smoothie that captures the nostalgic taste of a mall classic, made easy at home with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk of choice, very cold
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1/2 ripe banana or 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup Greek yogurt or a scoop of vanilla protein powder for extra creaminess

Instructions

  1. Add milk, frozen orange juice concentrate, banana or sweetener, vanilla, and salt to the blender. If using yogurt or protein, add it now.
  2. Blend on high for 30 seconds.
  3. Add ice and blend again for 30 to 45 seconds until foamy and smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness with more ice or frozen fruit for thickness, or a splash more milk if it’s too thick.
  5. Pour into chilled glasses and serve right away.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh for maximum foam. You can prep ahead by blending without ice and chilling the base, then adding ice and reblending right before serving.
