Description
A deliciously creamy and chocolatey overnight oats recipe that tastes like brownie batter while providing a nutritious breakfast.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 3/4 cup plant milk (oat milk preferred)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup or another sweetener
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon nut butter (optional)
- Chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate (for stirring in or topping)
Instructions
- Add plant milk, cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla, salt, and nut butter to a blender. Blend for about 15 to 25 seconds until smooth.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into a jar or container, then stir in the rolled oats and chia seeds.
- Fold in chocolate chips if desired. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
- In the morning, stir the mixture. Adjust consistency by adding more plant milk if it’s too thick or a pinch of chia if too thin.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add melted dark chocolate to the mixture. Serve with toppings like sliced strawberries or whipped coconut cream.
