- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 2 teaspoons freshly grated turmeric)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey, to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Small pinch of finely ground black pepper
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Add almond milk to a small saucepan and set over low to medium-low heat.
- Whisk in turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, vanilla, and a tiny pinch of salt.
- Warm gently for 4 to 6 minutes, whisking now and then. Do not let it boil.
- Sweeten to taste with maple syrup or honey. Start small, then adjust.
- Pour into a mug, sip slowly, and breathe in the steam. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if desired.
Notes
Golden milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently and avoid boiling.
