Description

A warm, spiced drink made with almond milk, turmeric, and gentle spices, perfect for cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or 2 teaspoons freshly grated turmeric)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey, to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Small pinch of finely ground black pepper
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add almond milk to a small saucepan and set over low to medium-low heat.
  2. Whisk in turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, vanilla, and a tiny pinch of salt.
  3. Warm gently for 4 to 6 minutes, whisking now and then. Do not let it boil.
  4. Sweeten to taste with maple syrup or honey. Start small, then adjust.
  5. Pour into a mug, sip slowly, and breathe in the steam. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if desired.

Notes

Golden milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently and avoid boiling.
