Blueberry Oatmeal (Stovetop)


Description

A cozy and creamy blueberry oatmeal that is easy to make and perfect for breakfast any day of the week.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup almond milk (or plant milk of choice)
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Maple syrup or brown sugar to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Optional toppings: Greek yogurt, nut butter, fresh fruit, granola

Instructions

  1. In a pot, combine oats, water, almond milk, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, until oatmeal is creamy (about 5-10 minutes).
  3. Stir in blueberries and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add sweetener and cinnamon to taste.
  5. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness according to the ripeness of the blueberries. This recipe can be adapted to be vegan and gluten-free easily.
