Description

A refreshing and zesty shot made from ginger and turmeric, perfect for a quick energy boost and health reset.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces fresh ginger, scrubbed
  • 4 ounces fresh turmeric, scrubbed
  • 2 large lemons, peeled
  • 1 medium orange, peeled (optional)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup (to taste)
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • Small pinch cayenne (optional)
  • 1 cup water (for blender method only)

Instructions

  1. Juicer method: Feed ginger, turmeric, lemon, and orange through the juicer. Stir in honey, black pepper, and cayenne. Taste and adjust. Pour into a small bottle.
  2. Blender method: Roughly chop ginger, turmeric, lemon, and orange. Add to blender with water. Blend until smooth. Pour through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth and press to extract juice. Stir in honey, black pepper, and cayenne.
  3. Serve chilled. Shake before pouring as natural settling happens.

Notes

Refrigerate for up to 5 days. Freeze in an ice cube tray for up to 1 month. Use gloves when handling turmeric to avoid staining.
